Fordham University, a research college in the Bronx, has produced several prominent individuals in politics, business, and pop culture, including Andrew Cuomo, Alan Alda, Denzel Washington, and Lana Del Rey.
Monroe College, named after the 5th president, and the College of Mount Saint Vincent also offer 4-year degrees in The Bronx, as does the City University of New York’s Lehman College.

In addition to CUNY’s Lehman College, The Bronx is also home to two of CUNY’s community colleges. CUNY Hostos and CUNY Bronx Community College both offer affordable options to students in the city.
